At Dr. Harvey’s, we are committed to ensuring that our foods and supplements meet the highest quality and food safety standards. As a part of this initiative, we meet the rigorous guidelines set forth by the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) and confidently showcase the esteemed NASC seal on our supplement labels.
The NASC Quality Seal is one of the most coveted, and hardest to attain, quality certifications in the pet industry and we are extremely proud to have earned and held this credential since 2020.
What is the NASC Quality Seal?
The NASC was founded in 2001 with the mission of promoting the health and well-being of animals through the regulation of animal supplements. They work with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure that dietary supplements for animals are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are also safe for consumption. The NASC was established in response to safety and quality concerns of various animal supplements in commerce.
The NASC’s role is to enhance the animal health supplement industry by making animal supplements available to the public in a regulated and safe way. The organization's rigorous standards and auditing protocols provide consumers with the confidence that they are purchasing a safe and effective product for their pets. Therefore, the NASC Quality Seal is recognized as a symbol of quality and safety in the animal supplement industry. Companies who have earned the quality seal have demonstrated a commitment to providing high-quality supplements that are safe for animal consumption.
What did the team at Dr. Harvey’s have to do to obtain the NASC Quality Seal?
To earn the NASC Quality Seal, we had to jump through some pretty rigorous hoops. We adhere to strict Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which ensure that our manufacturing processes and facilities are properly designed, monitored, and controlled. We also must undergo an audit that occurs every 2 years by an independent third-party auditors, which evaluates our cGMPs regulatory compliance and other NASC standards.
